Should a robot answer your phone?

Missed calls are missed bookings. AI hosts now answer, take and change bookings, and take deposits, around the clock. Here's what's on offer to Irish venues, checked 21 October 2026.

Before you switch one on

  1. Count your missed calls for a fortnight first (most phone systems log them). If it's under five a week, a voicemail with a booking link may be enough.
  2. Ring it yourself ten times with real questions, in your own accent, including an allergy and a group of 14.
  3. Make sure callers are told they're speaking to an automated assistant and that calls are recorded, and add it to your privacy notice.
  4. Keep a "press 0 for a person" route during opening hours.
  5. Check it writes straight into your booking system, not a separate inbox.
